There’s nothing quite as tasty (in my humble opinion), as an oven-baked, crunchy crusted potato smothered in butter, sour cream with chives and a bit of salt.  So, when I found and planted chives I was excited to see how well they would grow. I was not expecting any kind of ornamental appearance, just good old greens, available for me to cut whenever I got hungry for them.

This week we’re back to herbs and some of my very favorite are the many kinds of mint.  One of the good things about mint is that it
grows and spreads very fast so you can quickly have an impressive mint garden with several different types growing at once.

Sweet basil is among the easiest of herbs to grow and beginning gardeners can have great success with it.
